Barbara Polla, Analix Forever, Director (Switzerland)
In conversation with Paul Ardenne, art historian and curator (France)
Paul Ardenne (France) is Professor of history at the University of Amiens, and is also a writer, an art critic and a curator in the field of contemporary art. He studied literature, history and philosophy at the University of Poitiers and the University of Toulouse, before completing a doctorate in history of art with Laurence Bertrand Dorléac at the University of Paris I (Contemporary Fine Art - Forms and Constraints). Paul Ardenne is the author of numerous essays and books. Since 1990, he has worked for international art magazines such as Art Press or Beaux Arts Magazine. Since 2011, he is a regular lecturer in the bi-monthly video projections called "Videoforever", created and organized by Barbara Polla.
Barbara Polla (Switzerland) is a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Geneva, Switzerland. Visiting Professor at the University of Modena, Italy, Barbara Polla was also the Research Director at the Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale in Paris (INSERM), from 1993 to 2000. In parallel, she pursued a politic career between 1991 and 2003, and opened his gallery Analix Forever in 1991, in Geneva. Currently, Barbara Polla is mainly dedicated to her activity of independent curator and gallerist, in Switzerland and elsewhere. Art critic and writer, she published numerous novels and essays on art and genders. In 2011, she created the academic series of video projections and thematic conferences "Videoforever", whose objective is to promote video art.
