ESTE ARTE is intended for international galleries, offices focused on contemporary art, specialized publishers and cultural institutions. The fair presents artworks that ranges from historical avant-gardes to contemporary art, generating a far-reaching art exhibition for regional and international visitors alike. On display, a select group of thirty of the most prestigious contemporary art galleries.

Each exhibitor must present a show specially tailored for the occasion, the selected pieces may be paintings, sculptures, installations and video. The participation agreement is sent once ESTE ARTE has approved exhibitor admission. Booths are assigned based on the exhibitor submitted proposal and the fair general program.

To be considered, applications must be submitted before October 1 2023 and must include the following complete documentation:

- Completed and signed Application Form.
- Proof of payment of the Application Fee.
- Minimum of 2 images with full credits (artist, title, year, dimensions and technique).
- All exhibitors must include the work of at least one women-identifying or nonbinary artist.
- All exhibitors must pledge to generate as little waste as possible and use biodegradable packaging or recycle effectively.

Selection criteria
The selection criteria aims to guarantee the highest quality of the participating galleries and the overall curatorial concept. Exhibitors are chosen based on their submitted proposal and their general program, according to the following criteria:

- Quality and significance of the submitted exhibition proposal.
- General program and gallery’s influence within the arts scene.
- Gallery’s artists and artworks displayed at institutions and biennials.
- International art fairs’ gallery participation.
- Gallery’s media recognition.
- Limited availability of booths and competition for participation.

Affirmative Action
We offer special opportunities to exhibitors presenting artists from underrepresented minority groups, such as: ethnicity, race, religion, disability or gender identity.

Sustainable Development
We offer special opportunities to artistic practices that are not harmful to the environment as well as works that address topics such as climate change, waste and social issues.

ONE BOOTH OPTION
Booth costs include taxes, outlets, lighting, cleaning and presence in all communications.

Efficient Infrastructure
Punta del Este has the advantages of a small town and offers the facilities and services of a larger city, like the International Airport of Punta del Este, hotels and rental housing, design stores, haute-cuisine restaurants. ESTE ARTE has formed partnerships with firms providing additional services as art handlers, photographers, framing studios and freelance technicians or assistants.

Unlike other countries in the region, we can rely on Uruguay’s political-economic stability, friendly taxation and efficient infrastructure. These are some of the reasons that the region is attracting international public. Punta del Este is the main resort of South America and internationally known for having the right mix of relax, fun and glamour.

Custom Information
Artworks transit management is simple and well organized in Uruguay. All temporary importations (90 days) of artworks are exempt from customs taxation. When an artwork is sold within the country, customs duty are needed but are related to the constitutive value of the piece. Also, the artworks sold within the Republica Oriental del Uruguay are exempt from paying VAT or other taxes.

Participation Value
In ESTE ARTE the booth costs include everything: all taxes, lighting, unlimited electricity consumption, unlimited wi-fi, 24 h security, air conditioning, parking, cleaning and all national and international communication and catalogue.
