Pedro Tyler Gianoli (1975, Uruguay)
All his childhood he plays on the empty beaches and gardens of Punta del Este, he invades his father's workshop to make bows, arrows and toys, from there he forged a fascination for altering materials and tools. The idea that an object can be used as a tool, weapon or decoration influenced all of his later work. Growing up facing the sea and emigrating to Chile at the age of 21 accentuated his interest in space and how it is experienced. Bachelor of Arts with Highest Distinction in 2001, Mention in Sculpture from the Finis Terrae University, Chile. Since then he has exhibited in galleries, museums, biennials and fairs in Latin America, the US and Europe. His work is part of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; SPACE Collection, Los Angeles; P.O.C. Brussels; Museum of Contemporary Art of Bogotá; Contemporary Art Space and Juan Manuel Blanes Museum, Montevideo; among others. He lives and works in Santiago de Chile.
