In parallel to the ESTE ARTE 2016 exhibitors, the fair presents an important cultural agenda: a space for dialogue among artists, collectors, critics, architects and curators of international renown. This year we focused on the role of the gallerist, we explore the relation between art and architecture in the Southern Cone of the Americas with artist Leandro Erlich and architect Gloria Cabral, and we introduced a new series on sound art with Luciano Supervielle. In a private setting, at the super exclusive beach restaurant La Huella, the artists Cao Guimaraes, Eduardo Cardozo and Mariana Sissia, presented their latests publications. We invited Martin Craciun to organize the Cultural Program of the second edition of the fair.

Art galleries vary in style, size and purpose. Functioning as the bridge between art’s existence as a commercial enterprise and its role as a philosophical pursuit, a gallery, unlike other businesses, has a measure of success that is completely divorced from its financial earnings. By championing important artists, and putting on daring and provocative shows, art galleries occupies a unique position in the art world, and they can become part of art history.

Architecture is, among other things, a bearer of meaning. Fragments of stories can be carried even in rather obvious details: portals and doors loaded with the significance of arrival or departure; windows as the eyes of the building or as the frame through which a controlled view of the world. Only when a builder or architect has a larger vision of his or her work and those metaphorical details, attain a higher level of organization that we might call a story, a fiction. Access with ESTE ARTE VIP Card or purchased ticket.
